Black Planet Experience

I have decided that I'm going to do my site review over Black Planet; which is a very diverse social network community. It's almost like myspace but a little different because of the setup of the website. When you first glance at the website it looks like an online dating site because you immediately see photos of individuals. Its not as big as myspace but it is a rapidly growing community. Some people sign up to blackplanet because they want something different instead of myspace or facebook. On the community home page they talk about whats going on in the entertainment world and different blog postings, which keeps you up to date. I never used blackplanet but I experimented with the site and it seems interesting and a place where could have fun and enjoy yourself.

Working with kids

I believe I might just have found my calling in life. I received a job working with kids at Roosevelt Elementary school. I work with third and fourth graders who are struggling in school and need help tryin to improve their knowledge. Most of these kids come from lower income families; where they dont have the technology or help in their homes to overcome a lot of obstacles that some children can at their age. When I do different activities with them I try and make them feel as comfortable as possible because sometimes the smallest thing can make them feel depressed. This is usually my enjoyable part of the day because I love making these kids happy and I want to see them succeed and get every opportunity that any other kid has in life. I tell the kids about my personal experience that I had to go through in life and watch changes I've made to make myself a better person. I really didnt have it rough growing up so its hard for me to relate to how they are feeling, but I know if I can help them in any way I will do my best to do so.

Computer Mediated Communication

I started using computers at a young age, so I'm advanced with the high technology that computers have to offer now. My uncle works with computers so he use to give me tips on how to use them and what to do to keep them fresh and running at a high speed. I always wanted to experience the knowledge that computers offer, so I use to surf the web and browse through different search engines to see what it has to offer. I'm involved with computer related activity almost everyday of my life and will continue to expand my knowledge of working with computers. In high school I also took several computer classes, which helped me understand the technology of computers. Technology is growing fast so you have to keep up with the pace or you will get left behind.
