Guest Speaker

I found a lot of things interesting that Diane talked about but one topic that really stood out to me was focus groups. She said sometimes people are recruited to be in focus groups; which I thought was interesting because you would think people would get picked randomly or even by your peers. Focus groups usually use advertisement firms and marketing groups to help them with their task. She also talked about the difference between face to face and online communication. Some things that may occur during face to face is that people tend to hold back a lot of information. Whereas online communication you tend to express yourself in more depth because you cant put a face to words. One positive for face to face is that you get to discuss more information because everybody is right there and no time is wasted. Your statement maybe better during online communication because because you can think about where you really want to go with your statement and the quality maybe better. She also stated that blogs are the best way to discuss topics. Many people don't like to talk about some topics in face to face such as religion and politics for example.
